Jorge Salkeld

Senior Vice President - Tennis...
Prior to joining Advantage International in January 1990, Jorge Salkeld worked in the marketing department of Merck Sharp and Dohme, a pharmaceutical company.

Born in Lima, Peru, Salkeld graduated with a business degree from Northwestern State University in 1983 and obtained a Masters degree in Business from Boston University in Brussels in 1989. Salkeld played professional tennis for two years during which time he represented Peru in the Davis Cup.

In addition to his work in tennis, Salkeld also participated in the organization of the 2000 World Cycling Championships held in Plouay, France, an event that successfully attracted more than 75,000 paying spectators over the final weekend.

Salkeld is an Octagon senior vice president specializing in tennis and in the European and South American markets.  He has been instrumental in the representation of Gustavo Kuerten, having elevated the profile of the three-time French Open champion on the international level along with solidifying Kuerten’s position as a star in his native Brazil. Salkeld also played a critical role in the opening of Octagon’s Brazilian office.
